    • Mandarin Vodka: is an exotic vodka full of bright and vibrant citrus flavors.
    • Coconut Rum: is one of the base ingredients of this recipe. This light rum provides a delicious sweet and tropical flavor.
    • Passion Fruit Rum: adds in a fruity and floral flavor that pairs well with the other tropical flavors in the drink.
    • Pineapple Juice: adds a refreshing, sweet and crisp flavor to your drink. Pineapple juice compliments the the different flavors of the rums.
    • Blood Orange Juice: is tangy and adds a bit of a citrus zing to your cocktail. If you can’t find blood orange juice, you can use orange juice, but I recommend the blood orange.
    • Simple Syrup: helps with balancing out all of the rum and citrus flavors.
    • Lemon Juice: adds a bright burst of citrus flavor and adding a bit of zesty taste.
    • Garnish: orange or pineapple wedges.

    Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Can I Make the Outback Castaway Cocktail Without Alcohol?

Absolutely! You can easily transform this cocktail into a non-alcoholic beverage. For a virgin Castaway, simply replace the alcohols with another ingredient that has a coconut flavor, like coconut water or coconut syrup.

If you decide to use coconut water, be sure to sample the drink before serving to find the right amount that suits your taste.

How Do I Make a Large Batch for a Party?

It’s super easy to make a large batch of this fantastic beverage for a gathering on warm summer days. You will need to multiply the ingredients based on the servings you need. You can prepare this in either a pitcher, bowl or a beverage dispenser. This allows your guests to drink as much or as little as they want!

Be sure to keep your fresh ingredients, like your orange and pineapple wedges, on the side as their texture will change if you put them in the drink.

What Can I Serve with this Outback Castaway Cocktail Recipe?

When you are planning your menu for serving drinks, it is best to consider tropical flavors. A few ideas for food pairings include coconut shrimp, mango chicken skewers, pineapple salsa, or even a quick Hawaiian pizza!

When you serve this refreshing beverage with foods that have a touch of sweetness, it really helps to bring out the delicious flavors of your cocktail.

Can I Make this Beverage in Advance?

You can! However, if it has been sitting for a little bit of time, you may want to go ahead and stir it again, just to make sure all of the ingredients are well combined. I would also recommend leaving out any ice until served, so that your drink doesn’t get watered down.

How Should I Serve this Castaway Cocktail?

First, I would make sure you’re serving it in the right glass. My favorite one to use is a hurricane glass, but I know some Outback Steakhouses serve theirs in a mason jar. Adding a pineapple or orange wedge as a garnish would be a great idea. After that, fill your glass with ice, and voila! You have the perfect drink.

How Do I Store Any Leftovers?

You can easily store away leftover cocktail for the next day in an airtight container, like a mason jar. I don’t recommend adding any ice as this well water down your beverage. Then, place in your fridge for up to 48 hours. Before serving, be sure to either stir or shake to mix all of the ingredients.
