If you love Dutch Bros Rebel energy drinks, you can easily make them at home with just Red Bull, flavored syrup, and ice. This easy Dutch Bros Rebel recipe shows you exactly how to make the classic version, plus popular flavor combinations and sugar-free options.

This sweet drink is great for anyone with a sweet tooth, but you can also change out some ingredients to make it sugar-free. Also, be sure to check out a copycat Dutch Bros coffee soft top.

What is a Dutch Bros Rebel?

A "Rebel" is a beverage that you can order at any Dutch Bros. location. You will find these stores all over the western part of the USA. Rebel is a cold energy beverage that will keep you going throughout the day or give you that afternoon pick-me-up that we all need!

A Rebel can be customized to the flavors that you prefer, but they also have a few drink flavors that they recommend go well together. You can choose either a classic Red Bull or a sugar-free Red Bull; that is up to you!

What Is in a Dutch Bros Rebel?

    A Dutch Bros Rebel contains:

    • Red Bull (classic or sugar free)
    • 1–2 oz flavored syrup
    • Ice

Some versions include a float of cream or additional flavor layering.

Why should I make a copycat Rebel at home?

    • Ingredients. It only requires three ingredients, and one of those is ice. Once you purchase your favorite syrup flavor, you will only need to purchase Red Bulls when you're craving the drink.
    • Easy. All you have to do is put your two ingredients into a cup of ice and stir. That's it! It's super easy to make.
    • Cheap. It's not very expensive to make your own Rebel drinks. It is also less expensive to buy the ingredients to make your own Rebels at home versus going to buy one every time you're craving this delicious drink.
    • Location. You may not live on the West Coast, and you want to try a Rebel; this recipe makes it super easy to enjoy a Dutch Bros Rebel at any time.

What ingredients are in a Dutch Bros Rebel?

A Dutch Bros Rebel contains Red Bull, syrup, and ice. It's the perfect drink if you're looking for a little energy boost on a hot day. It can be customized with different syrup flavors and energy drink flavors to create your perfect drink.

Rebel ingredients, syrup, red bull and a glass with ice

What do I need to make this fruity drink?

Red Bull: is used as the base of this beverage. You're welcome to use your favorite Red Bulls, and you can use other energy drink flavors as well, just keep an eye on the fl oz in the drink. I am using a sugar-free Red Bull for this recipe.

Flavored Syrup: gives this drink a unique flavor that is customizable to you. Do you want to taste like you're at the beach? Add lime and coconut. Craving a fruity flavor? Try adding raspberry, strawberry, and cherry flavorings to your drink. I am using sugar-free strawberry syrup in my Rebel.

Ice: is added to keep your drink cold while you're enjoying it. If it's a hot day outside, use thicker ice cubes as these will not melt as quickly, small ice may melt and water your drink down.

How do I make a Dutch Bros Rebel?

    1. Pour the can of Red Bull into a tall glass full of ice.
    2. Top with your syrup of choice, stir and enjoy!

How Much Syrup Does Dutch Bros Use in a Rebel?

    • Higher quality syrups need less
    • Most Rebels use about 1–2 oz syrup
    • 2 oz works well for at-home version
    • Too much makes it overly sweet

What variations can I make of a Dutch Bros Rebel drink?

There are so many different variations at Dutch Bros that you can try.

In my opinion, some of the best rebel flavors are:

    • Electric Berry: Lime and Blue Raspberry
    • Aftershock: Strawberry, Blackberry, Raspberry and Lime
    • Double Rainbro: Strawberry, Peach and Coconut
    • Shark Bite or Shark Attack: Blue Raspberry, Coconut, with a lime and pomegranate float.

You can also make your own using your favorite syrups.

Different Syrups Used By Dutch Bros

Dutch Bros uses many different flavors. Some of the most popular are blue raspberry syrup, blackberry syrup, peach syrup, and coconut. Have fun mixing and matching flavors until you find your favorite flavor combination, creating your perfect drink. There are also plenty of sugar-free options if you want to make this a sugar-free version! I really like using Torani syrups, which you can find pretty much everywhere.

What energy drinks can I put in a Dutch Bros Rebel?

A classic Dutch Bros Rebel contains a Red Bull. You can either choose a regular Red Bull or a sugar-free one; that is completely up to you.

You can also swap your RedBull out with a Monster Energy drink or a Rockstar Energy drink. They both have similar flavors to a Red Bull. However, keep in mind the size difference between the two. There will be more fluid ounces in the Monster and Rockstar.

How Much Caffeine Is in a Dutch Bros Rebel?

    • 8.4 oz Red Bull = 80 mg caffeine
    • 16 oz = 160 mg
    • Sugar free = same caffeine
    • Compared to coffee

Can I Make a Dutch Bros Rebel Without Red Bull?

Yes. You can use another energy drink like Monster or Rockstar, but adjust for size and sweetness.

Can I Make a Rebel Blended?

Yes. Blend Red Bull, syrup, ice, and optionally ¼ tsp xanthan gum for texture.

Is a Dutch Bros Rebel Stronger Than Coffee?

An 8 oz Rebel has about 80 mg caffeine, similar to a small cup of coffee.

What Is the Best Syrup Brand to Use?

Torani and Monin both work well. Sugar-free versions are widely available.
