Preheat your oven to 325°F
If using a store-bought pie crust, follow the package instructions for preparing it. If making your own, roll out the dough and fit it into a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate. Set aside.
1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract on high speed until foamy, about 3 minutes.
2 large eggs, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Add the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, and mix until well blended.
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Beat in the softened butter until combined and smooth.
3/4 cup unsalted butter
Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
1 cup Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, 1 cup chopped nuts
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. The pie will be slightly gooey in the center, similar to a chocolate chip cookie.
Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
