  • 1 9-inch store bought or homemade unbaked pie shell

Pecan pie filling

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups pecan halves

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The center should be slightly jiggly but not liquid.
  • If the crust edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil halfway through baking.
  • Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. This helps the filling set properly.
