Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and the 2 ounces of chocolate together. Stir until smooth.

Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined then add in the eggs one at a time then mix in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chunks.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly and top with the ½ cup leftover chocolate chunks.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan completely before cutting them into squares.
