Instructions
Chop dried cranberries into small pieces. If they’re very firm, soak in hot water for 5 minutes, then drain.
In a bowl, whip cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream, Asiago cheese, and onion; beat until creamy and well combined.
Stir in dried cranberries, cranberry juice concentrate, jalapeño, sugar, lemon/lime juice, and salt. Mix until evenly distributed.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours (or overnight) for flavors to meld and texture to firm up.
Stir before serving. Garnish with extra cranberries or jalapeño slices if desired. Serve with crackers, veggies, or as a sandwich spread.
Notes
Authenticity: This version mimics the packaged La Terra Fina texture by combining dried cranberries with cranberry juice concentrate, sour cream, and Asiago.
Jalapeños: Fresh gives a brighter heat; pickled gives a tang more like the commercial dip.
Shelf-life: Homemade version will last 4–5 days refrigerated in an airtight container.
Texture tip: Whipping cream cheese with sour cream gives the same light creaminess as the store-bought version.
