Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika optional but adds depth
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or neutral oil
  • 1-2 teaspoon Frank’s RedHot or your favorite vinegar-based hot sauce adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water for thinning, optional

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Whisk well to incorporate.
½ cup ketchup, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil or neutral oil, 1-2 teaspoon Frank’s RedHot or your favorite vinegar-based hot sauce
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally and let it simmer for 4-6 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Taste and adjust for sweetness, tang, or heat. You can add more hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne for extra kick.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 10–15 minutes. The sauce will thicken a bit more as it cools.
  • Pour into a glass jar or airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

Pro Tips:
• For a smoother sauce: Blend it quickly with an immersion blender after cooling.
• To replicate Arby’s even closer: Let it chill overnight, flavors get deeper.
• Make it creamy: Stir in 1–2 tablespoons mayo or sour cream for a creamier “ranch-style” version.
