What is Wingstop Cajun Fried Corn?
Wingstop fried corn is one of their top menu items. It is a cajun spin to corn on the cob with the best buttery and spicy flavors. It’s great as an appetizer or a delicious side dish to your wings.
Why you’ll love this cajun corn wingstop recipe recipe:
- You will already have most of the ingredients at home.
- It is super quick and easy to make.
- You can change up the recipe to your liking.
- You get the Wingstop flavor without the Wingstop price.
Wingstop Cajun Fried Corn Recipe Pro Tips
- Don’t add too much salt. A great rule of thumb when cooking is that you can always add more salt but you can never take any away. If you’re using salted butter or cajun seasoning with salt, only add a dash of salt.
- Use fresh pieces of corn. I recommend using fresh corn from your local grocery store or farmers market that is skill in its husk. The husk will keep it fresh much longer than corn kernels that are touching outside air.
- Start cooking quickly. I don’t recommend putting your butter mixture on your ears of corn until you’re ready to toss them into the air fryer. This is so your corn doesn’t absorb too much butter and becomes soggy before you start cooking it.
What do I need to make Wingstop Corn?
Corn: For this recipe, you will need a few ears of fresh sweet corn. They will need to be husked and sliced. The sweet flavor of the corn cobs pairs perfectly with your butter and spices.
Butter: Melted butter will act as a binder between your corn pieces and all of the delicious cajun spices.
Chili Powder: Chili powder is one of the main spices in this recipe. It brings some heat to your corn, but is more mild than cayenne pepper.
Paprika: Adding paprika to your air-fried corn brings a sweet taste and somewhat fruity flavor into the spice mix.
Cayenne Pepper: Cayenne pepper has a smoky and spicy flavor. Because of its heat, it is optional for this recipe, but I like to add it in. You can always add more for an extra kick.
Salt: Salt will help enhance the flavor. Keep in mind, if you use salted butter, you may not need as much salt.
Lime: Adding freshly squeezed lime juice helps bring a tart and citrus flavor to your fried cajun corn.
Cilantro: Adding cilantro on top of your corn is optional, but I think it also brings a fresh, citrusy flavor.
How do I make this Wingstop cajun corn recipe?

- Cut the ear of corn so they are in smaller pieces, about 2 inches in length.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Stir well to create the seasoning mix.
- Brush the corn with the seasoned butter mixture, making sure to coat all sides.
- Place the corn directly on the grill grates and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the corn is tender and has some charred spots.
- Once the corn is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it cool slightly.
- Drizzle freshly squeezed lime juice over the grilled corn and sprinkle with additional salt if desired.
- Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro for added freshness and flavor.
How to Store Leftover Cajun Fried Corn
To store leftover Wingstop Cajun Corn, let the corn come to room temperature before storing it in an airtight container. Then place in the fridge for up to three days. You can freeze this buttery corn for up to two months.
How do I reheat leftover cajun corn?
To reheat your refrigerated corn, preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F. Then, spray your corn with cooking oil or butter spray. Place your corn into your air fryer for about five minutes, turning them around halfway through. You can also place it in the microwave at 30 second increments, but it will not be as crispy.
Is Wingstop Cajun fried corn spicy?
Yes, but you can tone down the heat a bit. This recipe calls for cayenne pepper, which can definitely add some heat to your corn. To turn down the heat, I recommend substituting the cayenne pepper with a little more cajun or paprika - you can adjust it to how spicy or not spicy you’d like. You can also dip your wingstop’s cajun fried corn into ranch dressing, which will also help with the spice.
How can I serve my Wingstop cajun fried corn?
You can serve your corn as a delicious appetizer or a perfect side dish at any get-together, party, or on game day. They are great when paired with Wingstop wings, pulled BBQ, or any other recipe with a cajun-like feel. Serve with ranch, blue cheese, hot sauce, or any of your other favorite dipping sauces.
